So, a co-worker brought me this tonight. Made a special trip to the store and gave it to me while I was washing dishes (even wrapped it in The Amazing Spider-Man paper!) and much like the numerous Archie Comics, the The Comic Book Story of Video Games book, the A History of Japan in Manga: Samurai, Shoguns and World War II book, and the metal detector I got for Christmas one year (still in the brown box next to the dog ornament in this photo) I have no idea what to do with this. At least the reading material was tossed into the trunk of my car in case I break down somewhere and need something to do while I wait for roadside assistance. That's something, I guess, but what do I do with this thing? Put it in my yard? I really don't have a spot for something that kitsch. Don't really have much use for my yard, either, but I don't want to clutter it with that. I'm more of a giver than a taker. I hate receiving gifts because they almost never have any real thought put behind them. I didn't ask, but I'm sure the logic here was "Phronems likes dogs. This is dog. Perfect gift." I really want to toss this in the trash. It's surprisingly big and gaudy and I don't want that taking up my limited space. Can't do it. I may hate gifts like this, but I will still do my best to hang on to someone's generosity as long as possible out of respect for them, so I guess I'm stuck with it along with that metal detector. What do I do with a metal detector? Go to the beach? *facepalm* No. Absolutely not.
I kind of want to name the dog tho... maybe Skippy. Does he look like a Skippy to any of you?
