Certainly goes with the art. No doubt about that. I wish this was a minute shorter (I know the rule about three minutes being the minimum.) There just isn't enough variety to keep my attention throughout the entire song.

Madze responds:

You caught me here :) I guess the piece would have been shorter if it wasn't for the rule

I don't think it matches the artwork too well. I view your music as calm, peaceful, maybe even directionless meditation, while the art strikes me as being more focused and intense. I see it as the kind of meditation one undergoes for a specific reason. That's just my interpretation, however, so it won't hold any weight in my score.

Overall, I feel that the piece can be a little too quiet at times, but it's beautiful nonetheless.
Thank you.

Ceevro responds:

Actually, I was wondering if anyone would call me out on that. The artwork is certainly more intense than the finished piece. Once I took out the percussion, the music lost that intensity.

If the artwork were blue, we'd have a match, I think.

Sadly, one works with what one has!

I've never played Mirror's Edge, but this did make me think of Ghost in the Shell quite a bit. While I still believe this is a fantastic piece of music, it also feels like you were being a little... uh, "safe" with it. The whole thing began to sound kinda samey for last few minutes.

zybor responds:

Most idm have similar structure and they do start out slowly.

Thanks for the review :)

I didn't care for it. This sounds like it's trying to come across as depressing, unsettling, and hopeless, rather than doing so naturally. As a result, I felt nothing. The song is well-made, but it left no impression upon me.

Lich responds:

I must ask, could you clarify by what you mean by 'doing so naturally'? if I go and craft certain sounds to go towards the whole depressing and hopeless vibe, then what classifies between naturally and not-naturally?

The entire idea of something coming across as 'natural' or not sounds like a personal-bias instead of a proper explanation in this case.

I'm not a major fan of horror music, though I do like to collect a bunch of it solely for my Halloween playlist, and this is certainly worth adding to that list. It's also a fairly decent loop. Not perfect, but pretty darn close. Great job, Bert.

Bertn1991 responds:

Thanks for the kind feedback and for adding it to the list :-)

I love everything about this.

Bertn1991 responds:

Eep thank you so much! ^.^

This is fantastic. I especially like how you said you were "starting this long road" towards learning Synthwave only a month and a half ago, but it sure sounds like you've been specializing in the genre for far longer than that. It's proof of your talent, I suppose.

Thank you very much, Keren.

Keypat responds:

I'm glad you liked the track, this is gonna be a hell of EP, yeah!

This certainly is a fun piece of music, especially when I actually take the time to try and visualize the "new world" you're creating for me. Thank you for the adventure, SirQ. You've done good.

Also, is it safe to assume you're heavily inspired by Waterflame?

Quebi responds:

Oh absolutely. And if you check my Youtube channel, I have the picture of the world I used to make this.

I did, in fact, enjoy.

Thank you very much, Piano Boy.

Bentendo64 responds:

thanks! :)

I'm not a fan of slow music, so this isn't something I would enjoy hearing on my playlist, but I always appreciate a track that an artist puts in the effort to keep from going stagnant (from sounding repetitive) at any point. It may not be my cup of tea, but, for little experience I've had with this listening to this type of music, I still consider it to be a fine example of Sludge and an interesting blend of genres.

nomubiku responds:

I appreciate that you took the time to write something and didn't just trash it because it's not your style. I also appreciate your open mind and willingness to look for something you could appreciate in something that's not your cup of tea. It is an unintentional mashup that just turned out that way as I put ideas together. I'm generally really happy with the music I make and I always hope that it will find it's way into the ears of someone who will feel excitement, happiness, meaning, and/or humor from it like I do. I also accept that it's not going to do the trick for everyone and that's totally fine.

Cheers!
