I was expecting the two to come together and form some shade of violet in the middle since the name of the piece itself is about mixing colours. Provides an excellent amount of detail in spite of its size and simplicity. You can clearly tell who is who without having to zoom in and I always find that impressive.

You definitely had a thing for Angry Birds back then, I see. For me, it was the ninja turtles. Didn't really keep any drawings from that long ago. Each time I moved to a new state, it meant tossing out everything that wasn't furniture, clothes, and collectibles. A shame I didn't own a computer back then to salvage my writings and doodles. Oh well.

ICam2k responds:

Yeah, I probably could've done that. Although I'm willing to cut myself some slack since I was attempting to replicate these character centric animations as they appear in LED screen on the palletes in Side Order despite how simple they look, so they where supposed to be short and simple by nature. And I remember redrawing these two multiple times just in that side angle because of how "off" they kept turning out. The title is actually a reference from one of the lines Marina says upon the near end during the story, but I suppose I accidentally clickbaited you for this animation nonetheless, so I'll have to say my apologies.
Yeah. That was that one part of my life I attempted to bury because 1. it's a mobile game where most consider to be too "kid-ish" by today's standards and 2. the drawings back then were in a worse quality even compared to the ones where I attempted to "restart", but then quickly got over that irrational disgust since I've come to acknowledge that it was a time period where my kid-self was just simply learning stuff and I still have interest in videogames regardless (albeit with more broader options), but at least I know I'm not the only one out there.
I do love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles though. I remember that time where my brother and I watched two episodes of the 2003 series off the DVD, played a game based on that and even once owned a figurine of Ralph who was actually more based on the '87 cartoon given how different he looked from the more serious action packed 2003 series (although lost it due to room cleanup unfortunately).

They're not angry bears. They're passionate! Also, Owlbear looks like he belongs in a Pokemon game, rather than Puyo, which makes me wish these were the three starters for a Puyo RPG monster-taming experience:
Maguro: "I choose you, Risukuma!"
Risukuma: "Will you quit saying that every time we run into someone!"
I am strongly in favor of the liberties you take with the Puyo style. Please keep doing that.

Coffee Day sounds awful. Tea Day or Milkshake Day would be amazing, but coffee? Smells as bad as it tastes and even drinking the high-end, expensive stuff is like being handed a mug of burnt beans mixed into lukewarm water. No amount of cream on top is going to help that mistake.

ICam2k responds:

Now you get it!
Now you just gave me another potential idea to draw of, although I'm gonna need to think of a funnier costume to make that joke have a bigger landing.
I always do, so no worries.
I haaaate coffee too. They're always bitter no matter the amount of sweeteners added, so I do get the frustration indefinitely. Everytime someone offers me one, I always give a big fat "no". Same with beer.
There are days for these upon searching actually, 21st may for Tea day and 12th september for Milkshake day. Kind of surprised my country has yet to celebrate that though, then again, it doesn't have the spirit of Halloween either, soo.

I saw this on one (probably all) of your links. I was curious what it was. Had I waited, I would have found out tonight. Aww well. Having lived in Florida, seeing a croc with the name "Sunshine" brings back memories. Rode an airboat in the Everglades and they were everywhere. Not a threat but definitely not afraid of the boat, either. Gators were more popular though I believe it's because people confused them with crocs. Sunshine here has the right nose and the light-colored skin, but the mouth is a little too smooth... kind of clean-looking. Seems gator-ish to me. The glasses, of course, are quite obviously croc in nature. Most alligators have no fashion sense. We all know this. Even if you gave'em a pair of shnazzy spectacles, I bet they wouldn't wear'em long enough for a simple photo.

So, what compelled you to bring Sunshine into this world and how much were those glasses you got for her? Could not have been cheap.

ShellySunshine responds:

It's totally fine if you seen this before. Thanks for checking out my other links! I had this thought process where not everyone would be interested in checking out other websites, so I figured I would post some of the old ones here! That, and it gives me an opportunity to not place all of my eggs in one basket, in the event a website goes down permanently, at least there are other copies that can be found.

I do miss Florida - only been there twice. Other than blisters, they were both great experiences. I do remember going to a zoo in another state and watched some crocodiles relaxing.

Yeah, gators and crocs get mixed up, and all people have to do is look at their noses. Thanks for the feedback about the mouth. I'll keep that in mind to roughen that up a little in the future.

Poor gators don't have ears to hold the glasses up naturally, unfortunately. Gonna have to rely on snouts and make sure they don't look at certain angles for the glasses to fall off... That, unless they have a glasses strap that goes around their heads, but they could still fall off. (The glasses would be a snack to them!)

I wanted a crocodile character is why she exists. Crocodile (amongst similar species) are my favorite animals period. Those glasses would probably be $90, but if they were fake ones without prescription lenses, it would be closer to $20-$30.

Considering the expressions you frequently add to your characters, I really should have noticed the Toriyama influence in your work. Guess I was too focused on your Sonic content and assumed you probably drew most of your artistic inspiration from its media.

ICam2k responds:

I have plenty of inspirations when it came to idealizing my style actually, although it would take me hours just to write down the reasons for the whole process, not just expressions but the linework, the colour usage, background planning among other fundamental elements. Plus revisiting the said media definitely did the trick since growing up allows me to get a better look of how these are made in terms of production value and the teams of people working on them. In return, this made me appreciate them more. Makes you stop and think about why you liked these pieces of media in the first place.

That is kind of terrifying. Had a friend who raised a pair of Schnauzers so the big eyes and wide jaw loaded with large teeth scares me. The fur looks less like hair and more like a collection of worms and those ears belong on a bat. Oh, and the paws are... well-trimmed, actually. It's difficult to get a dog to stay still to shave the fur around their feet. Do you own a grooming table with straps or did you create a dog who is very well-behaved? Either way, this piece is so overly stylized that I should hate it, but, since every part of it is committed to that, it works. All those aspects I mentioned are exaggerated in such a way that it forces a viewer to pay attention to it. Think... masks in a Greek play, for example or display pieces at an outdoor art festival. Ever been to one of those? When you're surrounded by other talented painters, sculptors, jewelers... etc, you have to be a little outlandish with your stuff to grab the focus of visitors. I still have a pair of ceramic coasters from some overly-friendly lady and a dragon light switch made by a guy named "Mahana" from over twenty years ago who only got my money because they each stood out in their own way. Here, I could totally see your design on a shirt (kind of a basic idea, right?), or, even better, as one of those stained glass suncatcher decorations. Seen those before? Most have those elaborate designs with bright colors... beautiful stuff.

Anyways... five stars. Noticed a few others I follow here also posted art recently and your work caught my eye first. That alone says something... to me, at least.

ShellySunshine responds:

Hahahaha, I was trying to reference off real Schnauzers, but then sometimes I forget to look at my reference photos every now and then, and go all willy-nilly. Oh well, I try to have a little fun with my art.

I guess I created a dog well behaved because I couldn't shave a dog that wouldn't sit still and behave either. I had Shih Tzus and those were difficult to trim their hairs. I then had a Pug, so hair wasn't a problem.

Never been to a Greek play, but nice story!

Thank you for your feedback! :D

Your depiction of this *squints* ...duck gives it an ethereal look. I guess that is appropriate for a legendary duck, right? Makes it seem more elusive and mysterious. Kind of wish you included the Lugia art in the initial description that inspired you to create this, but that's on 2020 Cami. No turning back.

I saw the first movie and thought it was not great. Never gave me the incentive to check out any of the ones to follow it. Thankfully, my friends seem to have felt the same way about Pokemon. I've been forced into movie marathons because one friend or another was so passionate about a series that they'd visit my home after work and have me sit down in front a screen for 2-to-4 hours every Tuesday night until we watched every film. Wait, how many Pokemon movies are there now?

ICam2k responds:

Actually it's a cormorant. A weird big pretty looking cormorant. I know what I saw.
Really wish I could know what made me do this. That's how it goes.
The first was alright, although that's probably because I watched the japanese sub instead of the english dub, because they seemingly changed the dialogue for some reason. The rest after that though are kind of mediocre (with some minor exceptions like Heroes and Deoxys... and Giratina if ever slightly because of nostalgia bias, that was THE first movie I watched actually), pretty much some extra 2-hour Pokemon media to consume, so I feel you. Oof, that must annoying to deal with something like that, as much as I get the passion.
If I remember correctly without checking the wiki and going off my memory, probably 21. (with 3 being reboots/AUs of Ash's adventure starting off differently for some reason, one being Detective Pikachu and the last one is a 3D remake of the first movie... for some reason)

Welcome back, TiS! Glad to see your art, but don't push yourself if it might hurt your wrist again. Hopefully, you're at 100%. I was thinking about you while watching a friend do a randomizer of SF1 a few months ago.

Snow wasn't really a thing until the third game, was it? Maybe I need to replay the first two, but I can't remember snow or snow-themed enemies. Seems like a missed opportunity for more variety.

Tisbore responds:

Thanks buddy. Nope, no snow maps on SF1 or SF2. I always wanted a snow map though. I still haven’t played SF3. I plan to play sometime this year.

This reads like a One Piece gag so I definitely approve of it. Other than that, it's just more of cami's usual high-quality Splatoon art. Excellent Pearl appearance in the second panel and every expression in the last panel is delightful.

I, too, ran out of storage on my Switch long ago and ended up deleting too much stuff, including pictures of Tingle in Hyrule Warriors. I might have to go back and take more. I only bought the Switch because of Tingle.

ICam2k responds:

Barely know One Piece, but the panels/shots from the manga/anime are absolutely stellar looking, so I'm taking the compliment anyways.
It's always neat to go all the way out in comics like this, especially when you're saving THE best for last to throw out a bigger punch to the reader/viewer.
Had to look out Tingle from that game until my memory jogged when I realized that I've seen these pictures before. I had no idea how good the guy looked which is kinda scary. lol

Risukuma doesn't seem as into it as the other two. Picturing a scenario where Ringo and Maguro just thought they'd coax him into normal clothes for a change since every outfit I've seen him wear always has some degree of enthusiasm behind it. His cutscenes leave me believing Risukuma is the type to prefer doing everything with gusto unless others are around to help tone it down. Still, the casual attire looks great on him. Looks like he just rolled out of bed, too. Adorable. Ringo, meanwhile, only looks odd because of how often I've seen her holding an apple everywhere she goes. It's as if a new piece of fruit just grows out of her hand every time she gets rid of it.

I hope the other Puyo games get officially ported to Steam or whatever new console comes out cause your emphasis on Fever and 7 make it a tad disappointing that only the oldest titles, Champions, and the Tetris Crossovers seem to receive any ongoing love nowadays. You should use your worldwide fame to pressure Sega into releasing a collection of all the non-Tetris Puyo games. Set it up with an excellent online mode, of course.

ICam2k responds:

Idk, he sure looks happy to me. He kind of kills with that shirt. heh
I knew she was a live tree that pretended to be a high school girl and not the other way around. People thought I was crazy for that! And Maguro is a live tuna in a boy costume. He hides fish eyes under the pretense that they'r too "beautiful to look at" and only Ringo is part of that facade. It's a conspiracy!

I would love to, but others before me already did that years ago (I'm talking decades) and that didn't seem to work out, so I don't think my cool art would be any different unfortunately.

I don't know the details, but Marina is a cyber god or something? Just casually bringing AI beings into the world just to have them go wild? I thought she was an idol who dedicated her life to her music... and Pearl. I didn't know she dabbled in creationism, as well. Dang it, Cami. Why are you so insistent on making me learn about this game's lore and characters? Smollusk seems really "marketable." I'd be surprised if it wasn't turned into merch.

Happy Marina Day, I suppose. (Do all idols have a day?)

ICam2k responds:

Was I trying to make others to learn the lore? I'm just a poor ole' girl with self taught artistic skills. I like to draw what I like! And for the sake of entertaining others. I'm not forcing people to learn the subjects within. I'm not like these "youtubers" who specialize on one thing or such. Just because I say I like Castlevania: Aria of Sorrows and people should play it doesn't mean that I... actualy, forget what I just said.
It seems so, but its "final boss" nature seems to prevent that. At least it seems to easy for others to make dolls of. (or plushes, Idk)
Happy M- hold on, you'll have to wait to say it for that incoming day this year.
